Restaurants and Shopping
The casino resort is, today, an amalgam of the best that the tourist and entertainment industry has to offer. Restaurants and Chefs The popularity of the Food Network’s lineup of shows has made household names of a number of their celebrity chefs. It is these chefs and the accompanying zest for good food that have helped drive the fine dining business among the newest breed of resort casinos. Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck and Alain Ducasse are but a few of the world renowned chefs whose talents and restaurants now grace a number of the best resort casinos. Emeril, whose self-titled show on the Food Network has garnered millions of fans and spawned signature product lines of both food stuffs, cookware and cookbooks, has his name associated with a number of upscale Las Vegas eateries that are spread out among a number of the best casino resorts. His New Orleans Fish House in the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino was opened in 1995. The restaurant features his Creole-infused seafood dishes. Delmonico’s Steakhouse, located in the lavish Venetian Hotel, Resort and Casino, is another popular Emeril-infused dining attraction. Wolfgang Puck, often associated with celebrity restaurants, has a carbon copy of his popular Spago restaurant in the fabulous Caesar’s Palace. His Postrio restaurant is a Tuscan Italian favorite, located along with Emeril’s in the Venetian Hotel, Resort and Casino. Alain Ducasse, regarded as one of Europe’s most awarded chefs, has overseen restaurant operations in the famous Monte Carlo Louis XV. He is a master of classic French cooking. However, though he has nearly exclusively remained a European chef, Ducasse has recently opened his own modern restaurant in Las Vegas, called Mix. Mix is located at the top of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Shopping Entertainment Shopping has become an entertainment offering among resort casinos, in much the same way that fine dining has. Visitors to the Grand Canal Shoppes in the Venetian Resort and Hotel, will be amazed to find themselves duped, almost, into believing they have wandered into an actual Venetian marketplace, complete with canal and gondolas. Street entertainers mingle with visitors. Their period dress evokes a time when street entertainment was simple, theatrical and often comic. contact@findcasinofun.com |
